CCB (Asia) Commercial Bank Sees 125% Increase in New Accounts in 1Q25

Annie Chen, Deputy Chief Executive of CCB (Asia), said that the bank has consistently supported SME clients and achieved phased success in online services. In 2024, its online transaction volumes saw a dramatic increase, with the number of transactions and transaction amounts in 1Q25 rising by over 40% YoY.

At the same time, the commercial bank has vigorously promoted the automation of online account opening, which has greatly enhanced account opening efficiency, Chen revealed. The number of new accounts opened in 1Q25 spiked by 125% YoY, and with strong demand from Chinese enterprises expanding abroad, a YoY increase of over 160% was recorded in new accounts opened by Chinese enterprises in 1Q25.
